The Guardian: How to make marking more efficient: three new techniques for teachers
Covers three techniques
The five-minute flick – show piece of writing from previous class at start of new class. Whole class feedback, then students work on their own piece individually for a few minutes.
Gallery critique – students move around class giving feedback on post it notes
Live marking – all students working – they come up to desk and get individual feedback during class
The idea of all of them is that they are done during class, rather than by teacher after class. Sounds worth trying.
